When you wake up in the morning the first thing you usually want to do is get to the beach and soak up the warm Florida sunshine. By the time you start to head to the beach your stomach grumbles. Where’s a good place to eat? If you’re looking to enjoy breakfast with a pleasant view of the Gulf- Anna Maria Island Beach Café is your place. Enjoy the all-you-can-eat pancakes and sausage breakfast on the outdoor patio surrounded by the beach and the ocean. My favorite place to eat is Peaches. They’re located on East Bay Drive in the Anna Maria Island Shops plaza. I love eating here because of the friendly and attentive staff. My favorite dish to eat at Peaches is the chicken fried steak n’ eggs. This dish has two eggs and a perfectly cooked chicken fried steak covered in their own sausage gravy.

You’ve been at the beach working on your winter tan you have probably gotten hungry. For lunch and dinner there are tons of places to enjoy. If you’re in the mood for some Mexican food check out Poppo’s Taqueria on Pine Avenue. They have tacos, burritos, and quesadillas. They even offer bowls that have rice, beans, protein, cold toppings, on top of seasoned green cabbage. My personal favorite place to have lunch at is the Historic Anna Maria City Pier. Walking along the 750 foot pier to the restaurant is a beautiful sight to behold with the local fisherman, wildlife, and the beautiful landscapes. Once seated inside the restaurant you have a view of the Tampa Bay waters and the Skyway Bridge.  My favorite dish from the pier is the blackened shrimp basket. It comes with 25 pieces of shrimp, lightly seasoned fries, and a side of coleslaw. If you’re not really hungry, but want a snack I really recommend Two Scoops. They have many different flavors of ice cream, pretzels, and other tasty treats.

For dinner there are tons of choices! For casual dining there is Island Time Bar & Grill, Bridge Tender Inn, Blue Marlin, and the Freckled Fin. Each of these restaurants serve fish, chicken, and beef. They also are located in the hotspot of Anna Maria Island- Bridge Street. If you’re looking for a nice place to eat out with elegant dining for that special occasion there’s the Waterfront Restaurant, Beach Bistro, and the Sandbar. All three restaurants offers a beautiful view of the beach and the stunning waters of Anna Maria. My favorite place to have dinner is at Hurricane Hanks. They are a nice causal sports bar with that island feel to it. My favorite dish here is the crabcake sandwich. It was nicely seasoned with a side of fries. I love to eat the crabcake without the bread as well. The best part about eating on Anna Maria Island is the gorgeous view of the sunrise ad sunsets.
